What Makes Damon Braces Different From Other Types of Braces?

Unlike other types of braces Damon braces work with unique clips. This is different from other braces in that they work at a greater rate and are much more comfortable than other types of braces. Here is a look at what makes these braces different from others.

The first thing to note about Damon braces is that of how they are built. These braces work in that instead of using elastic bands to hold wires small clips are used for handling these wires. These clips are ones that are made partly of metal and can handle the wires without putting too much pressure on the user's teeth.

Damon brace can be used to help with improving not only the straightness of the teeth but also the width of the back teeth. These braces are noted for being to work with the back and side teeth to get them to be expanded so that wider smiles can be created.

These clips are also must smaller than that of other bands that have been used in the past for other types of braces. While they may not be fully invisible they are not as easy to see or notice as other types of braces are.

Damon braces can work at a faster rate than other types of braces. This is because with Damon braces there is a reduced amount of friction that occurs between the brackets and the wires. Thanks to this lack of friction it will be easier for the teeth to move into place properly. They will also cause a substantially lower amount of pain than that of traditional types of braces.

In fact the rate that these braces work at can be especially quick. Thanks to the lack of friction Damon braces can work four months faster than that of other types of braces.

Because of the lower amount of materials used on these braces there are fewer standard adjustment visits needed for Damon braces than that of other braces. For Damon braces a typical patient will need to visit with an orthodontist every ten weeks instead of every six to eight weeks.

The last of the differences that these braces feature is that they are easier to clean than other types of braces. With a smaller appearance food will not be as likely to get cooked in one's braces as other materials. The lack of elastic bands in these braces is also very convenient.

Damon braces are very different from other orthodontic options for a variety of reasons. These braces are less visible and will not work with as much friction. As a result they are easier to handle and can take less time to work than other options can.

Should I Invest In Damon Braces?

If you are still walking with those conventional metallic braces (set to straighten your teeth), then this article will be enlightening. I mean, in the rest of the passage, I will be illustrating some of the advantages of Damon metallic braces. I can sense the doubts and questions surfacing within you – if these braces are also manufactured from metals, what is the difference between the two (Damon braces and conventional metallic braces)? I will explain the reply to this query in the following passage. The next time you are in the near dental clinic, and if you are interested in straightening your teeth, then, please ask for these braces.

The primary difference between Damon braces and the other types of conventional braces is the self-binding property associated with the former. In simpler terms, the braces will adjust according to the progress of the treatment. In other words, the number of times you will be visiting the dentist to tighten the metallic braces will drastically reduce. You will have to visit the dentist at regular intervals (so that the dentist will be able to monitor the treatment progress).

Absence of ligatures is another factor that increased the popularity of this contravention among the masses. I know that you are now excited thinking about the advantages that can be realized by wearing these Damon braces. Here is something that will increase the excitation manifold – the brackets that are present in these braces are smaller in comparison to the ones that can be found in conventional braces. The phenomenon of 'extracts' has been completely eliminated from the niche and the patient will enjoy the treatment procedure without any pain. What are you waiting for?

Unlike the conventional metallic braces that may take some time to initiate the treatment process, with the aid of Damon braces the treatment process is augmented. While it may take one to two years to fix crooked teeth with the help of conventional braces, it only takes a maximum of six months with Damon braces. The duration of treatment is determined by the nature of damage that has been subjected to the teeth. Here, people who are unable to find a suitable "fix" for their crooked teeth must try these braces before giving up. They may never know the surprises that are in store for them.

One of the common complaints that have been posted on many discussion forums is the discomfort that is attributed into the jaw by the conventional metallic braces. Normally, dentists advise their patients to ignore this discomfort and move on with their day to day activities. Why should you suffer when you have painless options like Damon Braces? It is easier to find that clinic which will help you with your first Damon brace – just search for it on the internet and the nearest clinic that supports this technology will be highlighted. Be prepared to bear the extra charges associated with this specialized treatment procedure, though! If you ask me, I would suggest you to ignore the high charges and proceed with the treatment. There should not be any form of bargains when it comes to straightening your teeth.

Damon Braces – A Modern Alternative to Conventional Metal Braces

Damon braces are a new alternative to conventional metal braces that offer several advantages over other metal braces options.

The first of these is Damon Braces are self-ligating. What this means in layman's terms is that there is a mechanism on the bracket of the Damon braces that allows the wire to connect directly to it. By contrast, conventional metal braces require a ligature to connect the wire of the braces to the bracket. The ligature of braces are one of the most visible parts, often being seen as bright colored squares on the braces of teenagers. Doing away with the need for ligatures means that the brackets can be smaller and less conspicuous.

No ligatures also mean that the wire is able to slide through the brackets in a Damon braces system. This does away for the need for the wire to be tightened and thus vastly reduces the average number of orthodontic appointments that a patient will require. The makers of Damon claim that the average number of appointments per patient falls from thirty one to around sixteen when their system is used.

Another feature of Damon braces is that they can be partially clear. Combined with the smaller size of the bracket this means that they can be far less visible than traditional braces, although still nowhere near as invisible as clear braces options such as Invisalign.

Whereas conventional braces often require a palatal expander if the patient wishes to expand their arch, Damons do not generally require palatal expanders or headgear, and usually also remove the need for tooth extracts for the vast majority of patients.

The use of high quality memory wire also means that the treatment time for patients is reduced by approximately seven months and a better final output is achieved on average.

Damon braces do suffer from some of the same problems of discomfort as traditional braces. However, studies have shown that they are approximately 60% less painful than traditional braces. They do still ever cause pain, unlike alternative non metal systems such as Invisalign.

Damon braces typically cost a similar price to conventional braces that require ligatures, although this does vary from patient to patient. They are also closely covered by dental insurance in most instances.

These are just some of the many advantages to using the Damon system over other types of conventional metal braces systems.

Why More and More People Are Opting For Damon Braces

Damon braces are part of what is known as the 'Damon Smiles' system. We are seeing more and more people opting for them, rather than the 'traditional' braces. They have come to be seen as a variety of braces of themselves (rather than just a brand); so that just as we talk of metallic braces and invisible braces, we end up with Damon braces mentioned as a special category of themselves.

For the benefit of those who may be encountering these matters for the first time, we may venture to mention something regarding where this whole braces business is coming from. And as it turns out, braces are devices that are meant for evening out teeth misalignment issues. As we may recall, people with well aligned teeth tend to look very good. It does not matter how the teeth look in other aspects, but as long as you have them perfectly aligned, you already have some brownie points chalked up to you.

On the other hand, misaligned teeth tend to be anything, from somewhat unappealing (where the misalignment is modest), to completely off-putting, where the misalignment is major. Now in order to help people bring their misaligned teeth back into proper alignment, a number of devices have been created, chief among them being the braces we are now looking at. The braces are effectively mechanical devices, which through very slight 'tug' forces bring the misaligned teeth back into proper alignment, thus enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the person who was afflicted of the misalignment.

So turning back to the question as to what makes more and more people opt for Damon braces, one of the factors that would come up is that this variety of braces does not come with ligature (and they are termed as self ligating), and the brackets on them are smaller. The end result is that Damon braces end up being even more discreet than the so-called invisible braces, in a situation where discretion is a very valued feature. They are the types of braces you wear, and hardly anyone learns the fact, unless you choose to make it known. Of course, there are the silver bits that are characteristic of Damon braces, and while these are somewhat conspicuous, they do not come out unfortunately – but rather, they make you look like you are wearing some fancy dental jewelry. Someone not in the know would never quite know it is braces you are wearing.

The second attraction in Damon braces lies in the fact that they are quite easy to wear. One of the more off-putting things about dental braces in general tend to be in the fact that they are not very easy to wear. This (ease of wearing, in the part of Damon braces), largely has to do with their structure; being as they are among the smallest brace varieties.

The third, and most practical attraction in Damon braces lies in the fact that they are highly effective, delivering noticeable results (in terms of teeth alignment) within a relatively short period of usage.
